I’m looking for good books on Samba notation.

I’d be interested in sheet music for large Samba groups and also notation for drumset. Just the same, I want to learn more and study other books.

I should contact the large Samba groups, there are a couple in Oregon complete with dancers and drummers.

Amazon does have ‘The Brazilian Sound: Samba, Bossa Nova and the Popular Music of Brazil’, and is highly rated, but I’m worried it is mostly narative and does not have notation.

Does this book have written parts? I would, but the Samba Troups are over a hour drive, and I probably don’t have that kind of discipline. I would like to study the sheet music they use. Syncopated rhythm is all about where the beats fall against the pulse, so to Samba you got to understand how it fits. Written notation gives you that with accuracy, then it can start to swing.
